A refreshing new refurbishment for a level of UQ’s Gordon Greenwood Building.
This project involved the interior refurbishment of the 4th level of the Gordon Greenwood Building at the University of Queensland to create a new entry space and support facilities. The central foyer space is designed to display Antiquities and artwork in a secure environment as a primary entrance experience. The project also includes a lunchroom refurbishment, with expansion onto the balcony enclosing this to be an indoor space. The kitchen update also included new joinery and furniture. Offices were demolished and rebuilt to create equitable spaces and increase the soundproof qualities of their rooms, minimising noise transfer between adjacent spaces. A flexible function & gathering space was also designed for staff to address quiet work as well as be utilised as a function space. The project has successfully given the Gordon Greenwood Building a revitalised, modern communal workspace.
