A sloping site surrounded by natural scenery provided the starting point for creating this extension to an existing residence in Chapel Hill.

Burbong Street is a project located in the leafy Brisbane suburb of Chapel Hill that involved an extension to an existing residence. The project’s sloping site is surrounded by natural beauty, which strongly influenced the considered approach taken to harmonize the new structure with its environment. ONA’s objective was to create a new wing that resonates with the style and character of the existing residence. The new wing reflects and compliments the original building’s aesthetics, ensuring that the new addition feels like a natural extension to the existing home. As time passes, the building will gradually become naturally integrated with the landscape, creating a sense of unity between the architecture and the environment. The extension was designed with the long-term vision of the structure becoming part of the natural scenery. With the owners having settled in, this vision for Burbong Street is now brought to life.
